First, remove any factory crashbar installed on the bike. Then place the crashbar in place using the same mounting points as the factory crashbar.  The upper tab on the crashbar would go to the outside of the frame as opposed to slipping into the slot like the OEM crashbar.  Once in place, use the provided 3/8 x 16 x 1" long bolts and washers at the lower two mounting points in the frame to hold the crashbar in place.  Do not tighten bolts, leave the bolts loose so it can be adjusted, if needed.

On the upper tab you would use the longer 3/8 x 16 allen bolt with nyloc nut.  The nut would need to go to the inside of the frame.  On some models, this location can be hard to get your hand up into.  To make it easier, place the nyloc nut in the end of a 9/16 open end wrench with a piece of tape on the back side of the wrench to help hold it in place, then slip the wrench up the slot in the frame to align it with the hole in the crashbar, and start the supplied bolt.

Install the two button head bolts in the center crossbar of the crashbar into the holes of the crossbar in the chassis of the bike.  Once all bolts are started, they can be tightened in place.  The 3/8 mounting bolts should be set to 30-35 ft lbs.
