Tank Lift Installation Instructions – 06 & Up Dyna / 2018+ Softail
Step 1: Remove the Seat
Start by removing the seat from the bike to access the tank mounting bolts.
Step 2: Remove Front and Rear Tank Bolts
Next, remove the front and rear tank bolts that secure the tank to the frame. This will allow you to lift the tank.
Step 3: Slide the Tank Back
Carefully slide the tank backwards (approximately 2 inches) to create clearance around the front tank mounting hole.
Step 4: Install the Tank Lift Bracket
Position the tank lift bracket onto the front of the frame. Attach it using the factory front tank mounting hardware, but leave the nut loose for now.
Step 5: Align and Install the Front Tank Mounting Tab
Lift the tank and slide it forward to align the front tank mounting tab holes with the threaded holes in the tank lift bracket. Install the supplied button head bolts loosely through the holes.
Step 6: Align and Reinstall the Rear Tank Mount
Align the rear tank mount hole with the holes in the frame and reinstall the rear tank mounting bolt.
Step 7: Tighten All Bolts
Once all the bolts are in place, tighten the front and rear tank bolts to secure the tank and tank lift bracket.
Step 8: Check Clearance
Turn the forks to each fork stop to ensure nothing is contacting the front of the tank as the fork is turned to the stop, if it is try to slide the tank back in the rear slotted hole or adjust any parts that may contact
Step 8: Reinstall the Seat
Finally, reinstall the seat back onto the bike.
