Tools & Supplies Required
-
Screw-style jack or motorcycle lift (to raise rear of bike)
-
Allen (hex) wrenches / socket set
-
Torque wrench (recommended)
-
Standard hand tools
Safety / Pre-Installation Notes
-
Use the jack or lift to raise the rear of the motorcycle slightly, so that the rear wheel is not supporting weight. This relieves tension on the swingarm during installation.
-
Work on a flat, stable surface with the bike secured.
Step 1 – Primary (Left) Side Mounting
-
Locate the swingarm pivot block on the primary (drive) side.
-
Remove its two factory bolts, one at a time.
-
Replace each factory bolt (one at a time) with the supplied 7/16" socket head cap screws and small outer-diameter washers from the kit.
-
Begin threading in the new bolt before fully removing the second factory bolt to preserve alignment.
-
-
Once both new bolts are in place, torque them to spec (or snug securely).
Step 2 – Attach Crash Bar Assembly to Frame (Pipe Side & Peg Mounts)
-
On the pipe (exhaust) side, locate the point where the subframe meets the main chassis. On some models the side cover will need to be removed to access this bolt.
-
Remove the factory bolt at this location.
-
Assemble and install hardware in this order:
-
Chassis → Aluminum Spacer → Crash Bar Mounting Plate → 3/8" Washer → Hex Head Bolt
-
-
At the upper and lower passenger peg mount locations, install the supplied socket head cap screws with washers to secure the crash bar’s mounting tabs.
-
Ensure the crash bar sits properly aligned on both sides and is flush against the frame.
-
Tighten all newly installed bolts securely.
Step 3 – Final Check & Lowering
-
Verify that all bolts are torqued and fully tightened.
-
Remove the jack or lift, letting the bike rest on its own weight.
-
Inspect and confirm that there is proper clearance between the crash bar, exhaust, rear wheel, and passenger pegs.
-
Make sure there is no interference with other components when the bike is at full suspension travel.
