Crashbar Installation Instructions
BBC/Chopper Haus Mount
Printable PDF Installation Sheet for Crashbar with Big Bear or Chopper Haus Motor Mount
Your crashbar kit includes a pair of adapter blocks designed to work with the BBC motor mount. Here's how to install them:
- Adapter Block Installation
- If the motor mount is already installed, begin by removing one of the lower bolts that secures the motor mount to the frame.
- Position one adapter block over the motor mount so that the threaded holes are oriented above the counterbored holes.
- Reinstall the bolt through one of the counterbored holes in the adapter block and into the frame.
- With the first bolt started, remove the upper motor mount bolt, rotate the adapter block into place, and reinstall the upper bolt through the second counterbored hole.
- Torque both bolts securely, completing one side at a time.
- Crashbar Installation
- With both adapter blocks in place, simply slide the crashbar into position.
- Attach the crashbar using the supplied hardware, threading the bolts into the threaded holes on the adapter blocks.
- Additional Step for 2006–2017 Dyna Models
- If you're installing on a 2006–2017 Dyna, you’ll need to remove the regulator from the frame before positioning the crashbar.
- Once the crashbar is mounted, reinstall the regulator onto the relocation tab provided on the crashbar.
