Installation Instructions
For 2018 and Up Passenger Peg Frame Slider
Parts Overview:
- Flat Mounting Plate: For the primary side of the bike
- Stepped Mounting Plate: For the pipe side of the bike
- Hardware Kit: Includes bolts, washers, spacers, and longer bolts for installation
1. Primary Side Installation (Flat Mounting Plate)
- Begin by locating the two threaded bolt holes on the primary side of the bike, above and below the swing arm pivot.
- These threaded holes may have plastic plugs installed from the factory. Remove these plugs to access the bolt holes.
- Attach the flat mounting plate directly to the frame using the shorter bolts and washers from the hardware kit.
- The tube of the crash bar should be positioned above the swing arm pivot tube.
2. Pipe Side Installation (Stepped Mounting Plate)
- On the pipe side of the bike, locate the stepped mounting plate. This plate should be installed behind the exhaust mount.
- If you are using stock exhaust, begin by loosening the rear exhaust mount and removing the bolts securing it to the frame.
- Pull the exhaust assembly out slightly to create space for the passenger peg bracket.
- Position the stepped mounting plate between the frame and the exhaust mount, ensuring that the main tube of the crash bar sits above the exhaust.
- The hole in the backing plate should line up with the end of the swing arm pivot tube.
- Use the longer supplied bolts to reattach the exhaust mount over the passenger peg mount, securing it in place.
- Install the spacer from the hardware pack at the bottom pipe mount (if this hole is used on your pipe bracket) to maintain proper alignment and spacing, ensuring it is the same thickness as the rest of the pipe mounting bracket.
3. Torque the Bolts
- Once all bolts and components are in place, tighten everything securely.
- Torque the mounting bolts to 35 ft-lbs to ensure a secure installation.
Low Rider ST
- On the low rider ST the factory lower bag mount brackets would bolt on overtop of the crashbar mounting plates. The Extended version of the passenger pegs must be used as they would have extra clearance in the mounting plate as well as the primary side gusset to clear the bag mounts
Fat Bob Installation Note
- For the Fat Bob model, the OEM heatshield on the exhaust pipe may interfere with the support section of the crash bar on the pipe side.
- To resolve this, either trim the heatshield to allow clearance or use an aftermarket exhaust pipe.
- All other factory exhausts, as well as most aftermarket pipes, will work with the crash bar as a direct bolt-on. The issue is caused by the extra height of the OEM Fat Bob pipe.
