2024-Current Bagger Highway Peg Crashbar
2024–Current Bagger Highway Peg Crashbar
Installation Instructions
Installation Steps:
1. Remove Factory Crash Bar (if equipped):
- Begin by removing the factory shroud around the radiator to access the upper engine guard mounting bolts.
- The shroud is retained by four rubber isolators and can be removed by pulling it directly forward.
- Tip: Work one corner at a time for easier removal.
- Best performed with the bike on the ground so the front wheel can be turned for added clearance.
- Once the shroud is removed, loosen the two 1/4"-20 bolts securing the upper mount of the OEM crashbar.
- These are slotted, allowing the bar to be lifted off without fully removing the bolts.
- Next, remove the two 3/8"-16 bolts from the lower mounts to fully detach the factory crashbar.
- After removing the bar, go back and remove the two upper 1/4"-20 bolts from the frame.
2. Install Bung King Crashbar:
- Position the Bung King crashbar so the upper mounting tabs align with the frame.
- Using the supplied 1/4"-20 bolts and small washers, thread them into the upper mount tabs.
- Do not fully tighten yet—leave these bolts loose until lower mounts are in place.
- Install the lower mounting bolts and spacers as follows:
- Primary (left) side: Use the larger diameter / shorter spacer and the shorter 3/8"-16 bolt.
- Exhaust (right) side: Use the smaller diameter / longer spacer and the longer 3/8"-16 bolt.
- Each spacer goes between the crashbar and the OEM engine guard mount.
3. Final Tightening:
- Once all four mounting bolts are installed and properly aligned:
- Apply blue Loctite to each bolt.
- Tighten all bolts securely using the appropriate tools.
Notes:
- Double-check all fasteners after the first ride.
- Periodically inspect for tightness and spacer alignment.
